Automated Sample Handling with Maximum Safety and Efficiency

SMILLA® Move Liquid Handling System enables fully automated, precise, and efficient sample handling—ideal for high-throughput laboratories. In conjunction with SMILLA® and as an integral part of the SMILLA® View software, SMILLA® Move processes up to 96 samples of 0.5 ml each in less than 8 hours. For extended capacity, SMILLA® Move supports the automated handling of up to 288 samples using 96-well plates.

The direct injection of the sample from the pipette tip to the SMILLA® sample line minimizes contamination and cross-contamination risks. SMILLA® Move is compatible with filter tips and perfectly suited for viscous samples. Optional sample recycling within a sequence enhances efficiency and reduces sample waste.

The fully integrated Clean & Rinse procedure is controlled directly by SMILLA® View, enabling true parallel processing for maximum throughput. While SMILLA® automatically performs the cleaning and rinsing cycle, SMILLA® Move simultaneously removes the used pipette tip and prepares the next sample. This intelligent workflow minimizes idle time and significantly increases overall system efficiency.

In addition, every Clean & Rinse cycle includes an automated background verification. After cleaning, the residual particle concentration is measured, and only if the user-defined acceptance limit is met will the next sample be processed. Otherwise, the system automatically repeats the Clean & Rinse cycle until the required cleanliness is achieved. This ensures reproducible, contamination-free measurements while eliminating unnecessary user intervention.
