The HiRes-FIM (High Resolution Flow Imaging Microscopy) module is a state-of-the-art solution for image-based particle analysis, and the heart of the SMILLA analyzer. Equipped with a powerful high-resolution camera delivering up to a true 170 FPS, this module enables the precise visualization of sub-visual particles in liquid samples, down to a size of 0.2 microns.
Choose between two camera options (12 MP or 24 MP) – both available in monochrome or color – to meet your specific application requirements. Both models deliver ultra-high frame rates and real-time processing, enabling the fastest and most efficient measurements.
The intelligent design of the device ensures reproducible and highly precise results – fully compliant under demanding conditions.
Thanks to ultra-short exposure times, motion blur is effectively eliminated – fully compliant with the specifications of the European Pharmacopoeia.
An advanced automatic focusing system ensures consistently sharp images, without the need to use focus beads.

The SMILLA HiRes-FIM module also offers maximum flexibility regarding the applied microscopy method. It enables high-resolution imaging of both transparent and color-rich particles and organisms using transmitted light, as well as optically denser samples with reflected light, which is available optionally as an add-on. Switching between the two imaging modes is quick and easy via the intuitive software interface.
