SMILLA – the Smart Modular Imaging Laboratory Liquid Analyzer – is a cutting-edge modular (patent pending) solution for analyzing visible and subvisible particles using High-Resolution Flow Imaging Microscopy (HiRes-FIM). Designed for flexibility, SMILLA adapts easily to specific lab needs, delivering maximum efficiency, precision and reproducibility.
SMILLA features several interchangeable modules, each designed for specific functionalities and application needs. Modules can be exchanged easily, ensuring minimal downtime and best adaptability.
Upon insertion, each module is automatically detected and configured by SMILLA to become an integral part of it. No manual setup is required. The physical positioning of the modules allows for customized sample flow directions, optimized for different applications.
This modular architecture offers exceptional flexibility, supporting a wide range of particle sizes (from 200nm up to 2mm) and making the system ideal for diverse applications across research, quality control, and industrial environments.
The modularity of SMILLA gives you the best option for your current demands, as well as the possibility to adapt the setup for new requirements in the future.
Four types of modules are currently available:

HiRes-FIM module
for high-resolution flow imaging microscopy

LO module
for precise, orthogonal light obscuration analysis

Pump module
for a steady and fast sample transport, adaptable to your type of sample and sample volume

Frame module
with the implemented Clean & Rinse system, enabling automated and thorough system cleaning between measurements – ideal for high throughput environments
